Did someone say, Catastrophe?
My son's home sick from school today, and I'm staying home with him.
Now, this could be good, or bad, depending upon, well, my son.
If it's good, it could be very good, in that I'm not at work but at home for the next six and a half hours and could conceivably knock out some more of my novel rather than waiting until this evening to begin writing.
If it's bad, it could be very bad, in that I'm not at work but at home with a sick eight year old for the next six and a half hours and could be so worn out by this evening that I can't write at all, or won't want to.

Yup, there's that catastrophe, right on schedule....
Sorry to hear it, Laurie, but maybe it'll work out and your son will have one of those "sick enough to watch movies and play video games but not sick enough to barf and complain and stuff" illnesses. If so, you could wrap things up a day early!
I'm about 2000 words shy of finishing and hoping to close that distance by at least another 700 words at lunch. I can't tell you how great it feels after last year's panic-a-thon....
I'm VERY happy for you and look forward to seeing your purple bar soon!
